Some highlights from Zoom Gatherings this week included:
Monday: Monday,Tai led an insightful launch on AI and art, asking learners to consider if they support AI generated art and music, and the implications of that choice.
Tuesday: Tuesday, Tanisha led a launch on whether or not social media makes you feel more connected or alone, and had learners discussing if they prefer building friendships in-person or online.. Joshua led a second launch all about Entrepreneurship and if learners would prefer running an online or brick and mortar business, and what it means for business to thrive.
Wednesday: Wednesday, we launched Part 2 in the Mastery Credits & Practicals Skill-Builder series. We did a deep dive of the Learn to Be Mastery Credits, examining the definitions and criteria for each, and then learners were challenged to brainstorm 3 pieces of evidence for one of the criteria for Purpose.
Thursday: Thursday, our Young Changemaker launch focused on Golden Tempo, a teen who shocked the racing world after coming from dead last in the pack and steadily overtaking each competitor to win. Learners discussed which is better: a strong start right out of the gate or consistent growth over time.
Week 33 Highlights
This week was all about perseverance, accomplishment, and stepping into big moments with courage:
Year-End Completions: Shoutout to Nadia for finishing her Quest and Story Arts for the year—an incredible milestone! And a huge congratulations to Ayub for completing his entire badge plan for the year. That level of consistency and follow-through is something to be proud of!
Commencement Ahead: Wishing all of our seniors participating in the in-person commencement a truly special experience. For those traveling in, we hope you have safe travels and an unforgettable time celebrating this milestone.
AP Testing Season: Learners have entered AP testing season, and we want to recognize the courage it takes to show up and do hard things. We believe in you and are proud of the effort, preparation, and resilience you’ve shown.
This is the season where all the hard work begins to come together. Keep going, FSO—you are finishing strong!
