Help us welcome two new team members!

We are thrilled to introduce you to Reneé DeAbreu and Monica Fullerton!

Reneé is new to our Forest School family and has two heroes in our High School Studio this coming year. Please be sure to welcome their family! Our current families may recognize Monica’s name, as she has been our part time bookkeeper for the last 6 months. We are thrilled to have her coming on full time as our executive assistant!

Reneé DeAbreu

assistant spark guide

A native of Washington, DC, Reneé has been married to Lou for 18 years and is the mother of four. Her love for children and performing arts has led her to continually educate and perform for over 22 years.  She homeschooled 3 of her 4 children and in 2003, founded Destiny Theatre School. Destiny is a school for at-risk children where performance is used as a means of therapy and education.  Always striving for continuous improvement, Reneé is professionally trained. She was educated at Howard University where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts, Sarah Lawrence College receiving her Master of Fine Arts, and Liberty University where she completed the first portion of her doctorate degree and received her  Education Specialist.

During her personal time, she enjoys traveling and exploring great restaurants with her family.  She loves reading books, attending Church services and events, and seeing great stage performances and movies.

Reneé is thrilled to be on The Forest School team. It is her hope that the Sparks learners will thrive this coming year!

Monica Fullerton

executive assistant and bookkeeper

Having worked in various administrative rolls for most of her professional career, Monica didn’t find her niche until becoming an Executive Assistant. She takes pride in providing the time and space for executive teams to concentrate on visionary and strategic decision making by using her business knowledge, intuition, judgement, and personal leadership skills to manage the micro details that present itself in the day-to-day of a leader.

She has worked in both the private and public sector, more recently for the Department of Defense as a Commander’s Executive within the United States Army Criminal Investigative Division.  Her educational accomplishments include an Associate of Arts in Sign Language/Interpreting from Kapiolani Community College in Hawaii, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Maryland Global Campus, and a Master of Public Administration from Bowie State University.

She is a proud active duty Air Force spouse and immerses herself in the military community volunteering as a liaison between Commanders and unit families. She also mentors and teaches spouses to be resilient by focusing on the four pillars of well being: physical, spiritual, mental and social.

Monica enjoys traveling and exploring other countries and cultures with her husband, and visiting with family and friends.

Please join us in welcoming Monica and Reneé!
