Story arts option 1

YouTube Content Creator

In the YouTube Content Creator Story Arts for Session 3, learners will be learning what it takes to create and manage a YouTube channel. YouTube is not only a fun hobby, but has become a legitimate source of income for some YouTubers. Building off of our Session 2 Branding Story Arts, learners will start off by creating a theme and brand identity for their channel and setting up their channel’s profile on YouTube. They will create a storyboard for a short video that relates to their channel’s niche, record and edit their video, and publish their video to their YouTube channel. Their work will be viewed by an audience of real YouTube viewers searching for videos on the topic the learner created their video about. Some learners may even choose to keep their channel going in the future by responding to comments and adding more videos!

Crime Scene Forensics

Session 3's Quest, Crime Scene Forensics, will take learners through the process of investigating a crime scene and using evidence to rightly convict suspects. They will start by conceptualizing the field of forensics and exploring career fields related to crime scene investigations and forensics. Next they will move on to inspecting crime scenes and finding relevant forensics evidence at the crime scene, followed by hands-on experience with analyzing evidence such as DNA samples. Lastly, learners will pair up to evaluate a crime case, and together they will write a debate on if the main suspect in the case is guilty or innocent based on the forensic evidence. Learners will give their debate live during the Session 3 Exhibition, and guests will serve as the jury to decide whether or not to convict the suspect!
