Announcing our judges for the Dec 1 Children's Business Fair

 

We are thrilled to announce our judges for the Children's Business Fair this December 1, 2018, from 12-4pm at the Pinewood Forest Holiday Marketfest.

These experienced entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurs will spend quality time with each of our kidpreneurs to understand their businesses, provide valuable feedback, and ultimately choose the top prizes for the business fair.


Edali Pollard

Edali works with emerging enterprises to develop sustainable best practices to manage smart growth. She has extensive business experience throughout her career, including roles such as Business and Services Trainer for the Los Angeles Urban League, Sr. Emerging Business Manager for the Chicago Urban League, and Consultant for multiple companies including EmpowHer Institute, AnnetteWork LLC, and others. Currently, through Eqenec Consulting, Edali supports entrepreneurs using best practices in business coaching with models of innovation intersecting with ideas. Edali’s passion: disruptive innovation to infuse organizations with a mindset of ‘what if.’


Christina Ketmayura

Christina is the co-founder of Tokki Goods, a baby goods company. She is passionate about thoughtful design, where form and function have equal consideration. She has always had a love for art and the process of creating. Before starting her own shop, she worked as a graphic designer and it was at Matchstic that she discovered her love for branding, strategy and storytelling. Aside from Tokki Goods, Christina works as a freelancer and loves to help brand small businesses. Christina lives with her husband Dan and two children in Atlanta. Aside from design, she loves nutrition, yoga and being outdoors.


Andrew Shahan

Andrew loves learning!  He has founded 4 schools in two cities and another country.   Mr. Shahan designed and led the opening of two K-8 independent charter schools in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.  The goal was to make schools the center of the student’s lives. This project led to the founding of an management organization that managed this model and ultimately grew to over 1000 students and a staff of over 170.  From here Mr. Shahan continued his journey by founding a bi-lingual school in Costa Rica that used Project Based Learning as its core curriculum. Continuing to evolve, Mr. Shahan is now working to bring student-centered learning to communities in Atlanta (his home!).  Mr. Shahan is married to a great Montessori teacher- Isa.  They have three great kids: Lucy, Damon and Maria. They also have 4 street cats from Costa Rica who only speak Spanish.  Mr. Shahan is a proud Stormy Petrel (Oglethorpe University) and Saint (University of North Georgia).


Meg Davidson

From videography to video production and still photography to a business owner, Meg Davidson has been leveraging her creative gifts and business acumen every since she entered the working world at 14. She has produced everything from TV shows and commercials, to feature films and currently has a photography studio at the Goat Farm in Atlanta. Most recently, Meg has served with Southside Ministries for over two years, first as the Creative Director and then as the Multi-Campus Service Programming Director. 

In her role as Service Programming Director, Meg is responsible for creating fun, relevant and helpful environments at the three different campuses of Southside Ministries. She oversees a team focused on music, programming, media, and production. 

Meg has been married for 13 years to her best friend since 6th grade. They have an 11-year-old daughter and a 9-year-old son who both love music, arts and the great outdoors.
